This total of 15.5 million viewers (who followed the speech on TF1, France 2, M6, TMC and the continuous news channels BFMTV, CNews, LCI and franceinfo) corresponds to a figure of 74% of share audience, according to Médiamétrie.
Search for consensus
The Head of State addressed the French for eight minutes, after having completed his tour de table of political forces on Wednesday, in search of a difficult consensus in the National Assembly and before being caught up in a series international commitments, including the European Council from Thursday in Brussels.
By way of comparison, more than 21 million viewers on all channels had followed Emmanuel Macron’s speech on the war in Ukraine on March 3 after the Russian invasion, for an audience share of 82.6%.
