Mad Max: a first photo of Anya Taylor-Joy in Furiosa reveals an important detail about the heroine

Filming since June 1, Furiosa, prequel to Mad Max Fury Road, unveils a first shot of the heroine, Anya Taylor-Joy, revealing an intriguing detail in passing.

Released in theaters on May 14, 2015, Mad Max Fury Road made an impression, bringing in a modest $375 million in worldwide revenue. In France, George Miller’s film had gathered 2.3 million spectators.

Faced with this success, the director returned to produce Furiosa, a prequel dedicated to the heroine of Fury Road, camped by Charlize Theron. The latter stole the show from Tom Hardy, who took over the role played by Mel Gibson in the original films.

Very popular with fans, this character in a young version is interpreted by Anya Taylor-Joy, rising star of Hollywood (The Witch, Split, Le Jeu de la dame). The latter is revealed for the first time in the costume of the fighter on shots of the shooting, taking place in Australia.

The actress wears dark and tarnished clothes, typical of the post-apocalyptic saga. However, a small detail sheds light on a physical aspect of Furiosa, already present in the first part.

Indeed, the warrior wore a prosthesis in place of the left arm. How had she lost it? It wasn’t explained in Fury Road.

In the photos from the set of Furiosa, Anya Taylor-Joy wears a kind of green gauntlet on her left arm, confirming that he will also be digitally replaced in post-production.

Will we finally have the explanation for the loss of it during the film or will the character already have this member less from the start, leaving the mystery hanging? We will probably know more when the first trailer is revealed.

On July 4, Chris Hemsworth had already been noticed on the set of the feature film.

He surprised all the fans by sporting an unlikely look with long red hair, a handlebar mustache and a long beard. We are very far from his appearance in the last Thor at the cinema!

Furiosa will land in theaters on May 22, 2024. In the meantime, George Miller is releasing his new feature film, 3000 years waiting for you, on August 24.
