Mad Max Furiosa will completely twist your brain

Mad Max Furiosa intends to honor Fury Road with breathtaking sequences. One of them required an unprecedented investment.

The second trailer for Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga was generally much better received than the first trailer. Doubt remains as to the inlay of CGI, but the direction of the film seems to be in the same vein as Fury Road. We should therefore still have mind-boggling scenes of chases, in a post-apocalyptic setting, and obviously, director George Miller has spared no effort with his teams to offer an epic picture full of action.

Mad Max Furiosa wants to make an impact with a long scene

There are many action scenes that remain in the memory for their ability to visually mark the viewer. For decades, the highway sequence in Matrix 2 Reloaded has continued to be used as an example. But in 2015, Mad Max Fury Road set the record straight and demonstrated a know-how that Hollywood was no longer really used to. So obviously, there is a very strong expectation at this level for the Mad Max Furiosa sequel. The prequel with Anya Taylor-Joy who succeeds Charlize Theron.

The young actress, seen very briefly in Dune 2 by Denis Villeneuve, teased a scene that should have spectators glued to their seats. An action-packed sequence during which Anya Taylor-Joy, like the rest of the teams, got their shirts wet.

There is a 15-minute scene which took 78 days of filming and which mobilized around 200 stuntmen daily. We had important discussions with George [Miller] to find out why this sequence had to be so long. This is because we see an accumulation of skills during this battle. And this is very important in order to understand how resourceful and daring Furiosa is. It’s the longest sequence we’ve ever shot. At the end, everyone received a gift of a bottle of “Stairway to Nowhere” wine (editor’s note: in reference to the scene in question).
