Magic Soup Games: Jen Oneal, J. Allen Brack and John Donham (ex-Blizzard) found their new studio

Blizzard has undergone major upheavals internally in recent years, the fault especially in cases of harassment and sexual discrimination within the studio. President J. Allen Brack left Blizzard in August 2021, then co-president Jen Oneal took the same path in November of the same year, while team manager John Donham left the firm in 2020.

And these three people now meet to found Magic Soup Games, a new studio that will only work remotely. Jen Oneal will be there CEO, J. Allen Brack the head of development and John Donham will oversee operations. The studio wants create games AAA with “positive themes”, without worrying about already existing genres. Magic Soup Games currently has five members, all “chiefs”, and the name comes from the will of design games like souptaking your time, experimenting, choosing your ingredients and tasting (testing) the product during manufacturing.

The elders of Blizzard keep bouncingbetween Frost Giant Studios, Lightforge Games, dreamhaven, Gas Giant Games or Second Dinner. The studio is being acquired by Microsoft and will launch this summer Diablo IVwhich you can pre-order against €74.99 on Amazon.
