Magnifica: all you need to know about Delonghi’s entry-level grinder coffee makers

Delonghi is starting its catalog of coffee makers with grinder with the Magnifica range. Comprising a range of models, the collection offers excellent value for money. But what are the differences and similarities between the references? We suggest you see more clearly.

On Digital, we do not miss an opportunity to test the coffee makers with Delonghi grinder, as evidenced by our comparison. The Magnifica collection, which constitutes the entry-level of the Italian manufacturer, is obviously one of them. It includes four main references, sometimes available in different colors: the S, the Smart, the S Smart and the EVO, the latest addition.

These models offer very good value for money, but differentiating between them can be difficult. To help you make your choice, we offer a summary of the features and specificities of each reference.

All models offer:

  • Plastic finishes: we will see that some models have different colors;
  • A stainless steel drip tray;
  • A control panel without touch screen (except for the Evo series);
  • A steam wand with dimmer allowing you to run hot water or project steam (to froth the milk);
  • A bean container with a capacity of 250 g, closed by a tight lid;
  • A hatch for ground coffee: particularly useful for fans of decaffeinated coffee;
  • 15 bar pressure;
  • A steel grinder;
  • A thermoblock to control the temperature of the coffee;
  • A 1.8 l water tank: housed on the right side of the machine, it is easily accessible and can be removed by pulling it slightly towards you;
  • Access to the extraction chamber to facilitate maintenance;
  • A power of 1450 W.
