Maintenance work at Telekom, Vodafone, O2 and Co.: You have to expect failures here

The networks of Telekom, Vodafone, O2 and Co. have to be serviced regularly. This can lead to brief phone and internet failures. There is currently work to be done here.

Is your telephone, television or internet connection on strike? Then don’t panic. Sometimes it’s just a temporary problem because your provider is carrying out maintenance work on the line. Information about these is not always transparent. We will therefore keep you up to date on planned maintenance work at the major Internet providers in Germany.

1&1

Do you have a problem with your 1&1 connection? Then this is currently not due to maintenance work. Because the provider from Montabaur has not announced any. But you can check with us whether there is currently a problem with 1&1.

German phone

We currently have no information on maintenance work at the provider “Deutsche Telefon”. If you have problems with your connection, you can check with us whether the provider is currently struggling with a fault. To do this, call up our fault status for “Deutsche Telefon”.

Deutsche Telekom

There is currently no maintenance work to be done at Telekom. However, you can use our Telekom fault indicator to check whether there are currently any restrictions at your location. For example, Telekom currently points out on its website that calls via the landline network can be terminated after 20 minutes.

German fiberglass

The following maintenance work is pending in the German fiber optic network in April and May:

  • 17 May 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m.: Maintenance of all services in the district of Heinsberg (downtime of up to 5 hours)
  • 17 May 12:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m.: Maintenance of all services in Hamminkeln, Dinslaken, Emmerich and Isselburg (downtime around 2 hours)
  • 18 May 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m.: Maintenance of all services in the district of Heinsberg (downtime up to 5 hours)
  • May 19, 0 a.m. to 5 a.m.: Maintenance of all services in the district of Heinsberg (downtime up to 5 hours)
  • 20 May 12:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m.: Maintenance of all services in Ibbenbüren and Hörstel (downtime about 2 hours)
  • May 23, 11 p.m. to May 24, 6 a.m.: Maintenance of all services in Runkel and Niederrupt (downtime about 7 hours)
  • 24 May 10:30 p.m. to 25 May 6 a.m.: Maintenance of all services in Algermisssen, Hohenhameln, Sarstedt, Kalefeld and Bovenden (approx. 6 hours)
  • 25 May 12:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.: Maintenance of all services in Wickede (downtime about 1 hour)

Internet, television and telephone will probably not be available to you during the period mentioned. If problems persist after maintenance is complete, the company recommends rebooting or temporarily unplugging the router.

Do you have problems with your connection, even though you don’t live in one of the areas mentioned? Then you can check with us whether the German fiber optics is struggling with a fault in your area.

NetCologne

We are not aware of any maintenance work for the NetCologne network. If you have problems with your connection, check our NetCologne fault indicator to see if other people are also complaining about difficulties.

O2

In addition to DSL connections, O2 also maintains one of the largest mobile phone networks in Germany. According to the provider’s overview, no maintenance work is currently planned here.

If you still have problems with the landline, Internet or mobile phone, this may be due to a fault in the O2 network. Check the linked fault indicator to see if other O2 fans are also reporting problems.

Vodafone

Vodafone regularly maintains its mobile, cable and DSL network and provides information about upcoming work on its breaking news board. There is currently no announcement of maintenance work to be found here. From August, however, there will be a major switchover in Vodafone’s cable network.

You can also check with us whether there is currently a disruption at Vodafone in your region.

wilhelm.tel

In northern Germany in particular, wilhelm.tel offers cable TV, Internet, telephony and mobile communications. According to the provider, no maintenance work is currently planned on the network.

If you still have problems, you can check with us whether wilhelm.tel is struggling with a fault in your region.

Bridging maintenance work: So you still have internet and television

If the telephone connection at home is dead due to maintenance work, you can still use your cell phone to make calls. You can also use your smartphone to connect your PC to the network until the maintenance work is complete. Hotspot is the magic word here.
