Maisie Williams has never been seen like this: the actress is transformed into a futuristic avatar for a fashion campaign.
Actress Maisie Williams (23) is still known to most as Arya Stark from “Game of Thrones”. In a new commercial for the Swedish fashion giant H&M, the British woman now shows a completely new side: In the clip, which she published last Monday (April 12) on her Instagram page, she transforms into a glowing avatar.
In the video Williams can be seen thinking about the future on her bed and jokingly sending a cry for help into the universe: “Dear aliens, please send help!” She then explains that new technologies like coding are based on the old technology of weaving clothes. Coding, in turn, enables old clothes to be recycled into new ones, known as “looping”. In her imagination, the actress can then “loop” herself and transforms herself into a cyborg-like version of herself with short white hair and lavender skin and eyes.
Williams announced when the commercial was launched that she was the fashion brand’s official global sustainability ambassador. Their goal is to use 100 percent recycled or other sustainably produced materials for their products by 2030. According to the company, Maisie Williams and her avatar twin will appear in multiple campaigns over the course of the year.
