Maite Kelly performed in the “ZDF television garden”. As a tribute to her late sister Barby Kelly, she wore a special skirt.

Maite Kelly (41) is this Sunday (May 9th) in the “ZDF television garden” occurred. In her first appearance after the death of her sister Barby (1975-2021), the singer honored the deceased family member with her outfit. What the baby blue rock was all about, the musician already revealed before her performance with her song “Einfach Hello” in an Instagram post known.

On April 15th, Barby Kelly died at the age of 45 after a short illness. The family gave it a few days later on Facebook known. “Just like Barby was the one who always straightened my blouse as a child and plaited the bow into my hair, I’ll make myself as beautiful as possible for the stage that day,” says Maite Kelly in her latest post, despite the decision the grief to go on the ZDF stage.

She therefore asked her beloved seamstress to sew her a ballerina-style skirt – “as an homage to my mom and to Barby. Because they were both ballerinas. And the words of my mom on her deathbed will stay with me forever:” ‘Keep on singing!’ “, Writes Maite Kelly in her post. Her whole family continued to sing with all their hearts and passed on the joy of life on stage. “I’m a bit more fragile at this time, but you give me the courage I need now.”

The open-air live show “ZDF-Fernsehgarten” started the new season this Sunday (12:00 noon) on the Lerchenberg in Mainz. Also there were Maite Kelly’s “DSDS” jury colleague Mike Singer (21) and “DSDS” winner Jan-Marten Block (25). In addition, Andrea Kiewel (55), dressed in a bright green dress, welcomed Giovanni Zarrella (43), Ben Zucker (37), Boney M. and The Baseballs as well as the magician Hans Klok (52). The broadcast took place without a viewer on site.
