If you use Google Chrome, quickly update your browser. The Mountain View company has just deployed an emergency patch on Windows, Mac and Linux.

In its latest security advisory published this Thursday, April 14, the American giant warns its users against a critical zero-day vulnerability that is actively exploited by hackers. This is already the third of its kind corrected since the beginning of the year.

A critical flaw fixed urgently

More concretely, this flaw called CVE-2022-1364 allowed attackers to arbitrarily execute code without the knowledge of its victims from a type confusion in the JavaScript engine V8 of the software. For security, Google did not wish to give more details about it and prefers to wait until a majority of its users have updated their browser to communicate on it.

So, it is extremely urgent to update Google Chrome. To do this, click on the three small dots menu at the top right of the browser, then on “Settings”. Then open the drop-down menu and go to the “About Chrome” category. From there, you can verify that you are on version 100.0.4896.127. Otherwise, update your browser.
