There was a serious fire at Karfreit in Reisseck. A mother and her four-year-old child were in the house and alerted the emergency services.
In the early hours of Friday morning around 4:35 a.m., the 33-year-old homeowner noticed that the children’s room was on fire. She and her four-year-old daughter were in another room together at the time of the fire. From there they immediately alerted the fire department and waited for the emergency services. They were able to quickly bring the flames under control. The mother and her child were taken to the BKH Lienz with suspected smoke poisoning. Investigators assume a technical defect. The exact cause of the fire is still being determined.
