Major renovation work – rediscover the Lower Austrian state parliament

The fine and final work in the government district of St. Pölten is currently in full swing: the new “Forum Landtag” is scheduled to open at the beginning of September. In total, around 2.5 million euros will flow into the construction project.

State Parliament President Karl Wifling: “We don’t want a visitor center in which outdated devotional members of the state parliament can be found. Our forum is intended to be a place to think ahead and to think along, a room for movement with a future.” The new building has a dual-use concept: on the one hand, the interactive visitor world with attractive information stations lures. On the other hand, there will also be a new event room for the party clubs and parliamentary groups. The project is the result of a competition in which the jury led by political scientist Dr. Peter Filzmaier and the parliamentarism expert Dr. Werner Zögernitz awarded the contract to the “Studio Maks” and “Büro Wien” consortium.
