When making a phone call, you basically have the choice of showing or hiding your phone number, i.e. calling anonymously. However, permanent number blocking is not always the perfect solution, especially if you only want to call certain contacts or phone numbers anonymously. But there is a trick for this: With a so-called GSM code, you can suppress your number manually whenever it makes sense. We show you how it works.
Make a one-off anonymous call with a key code
The following trick can be used with both Android cell phones and iPhones: If you want to suppress your phone number once, enter as
Preselect the key code #31#
a. Your contact will then receive an anonymous call.
However, note the following two points:

Withheld phone numbers are not completely anonymous. In justified cases, authorities and network operators can trace unknown callers.
