How can you make ice cream at home?

The good news first: It's easy to make ice cream at home. And it gets even better: At home you can conjure up exactly the ice cream that you love.

Whether really sweet or less sweetened, beautifully fruity or with a lot of chocolate, whether with crispy extras or as exciting new creations – the taste possibilities for homemade ice cream are almost endless. Can you make ice cream yourself without an ice cream maker?

Just because you don't have an ice machine doesn't mean you can't make your own ice cream. On the contrary: with the right recipe and a little patience, it's child's play. Again, the ingredients have to be cooled down and then put in a chilled bowl, which you in turn put in the freezer. Now it's time to wait. After about 2 hours the mass should be frozen. To create a creamy consistency, you have to stir it vigorously once. You repeat this every half hour until the ice cream has reached the desired creamy consistency. Make ice cream yourself with curd cheese

Quark, i.e. lean quark, is an ideal basis for homemade ice cream. Because there is a reason why more and more ice cream parlors meanwhile Skimmed curd ice cream offer: it is whole quickly prepared, low in fat and high in protein – and thus the ideal alternative to classic ice cream if you want to save calories.   • 1 tsp honey

Make ice cream yourself with Greek yogurt

Greek yogurt has long been known as the slim food of the stars and it is therefore no wonder that yogurt is also a figure-conscious variant of the homemade ice cream godfather. The whole thing is called frozen yoghurt and we will be happy to explain how it works.

This light, low-calorie and vegan version of the homemade ice cream is our personal favorite when it comes to making ice cream without an ice cream maker. You only need two ingredients for the so-called Nicecream.

  • 1 ripe banana that was left in the freezer overnight
