All you need are five ingredients. Your skin and the environment will thank you.

You need:

  • 15 milliliters of argan oil
  • 4 grams of Emulsan (pharmacy)
  • 3 grams of shea or cocoa butter
  • 35 milliliters of rose water
  • 5 drops of borage essential oil (dry skin) or black seed oil (combination skin)
  • Also: kitchen scales, saucepan, 2 bowls, small screw-top jar, kitchen thermometer, hand blender

That’s how it’s done:

  1. Fill a saucepan with a little tap water and place a bowl on it, creating a water bath. Wait a little for it to warm up. Melt the shea or cocoa butter in the shell.
  2. Add argan oil and emulsan and remove the peel from the water bath when everything is very liquid. Let the liquid cool down to 40 degrees: the kitchen thermometer helps with checking.
  3. Now place the second bowl on the water bath and add rose water. Measure the temperature again with the kitchen thermometer. The water must reach exactly 40 degrees.
  4. Now emulsification takes place, i.e. oil and water are mixed to form an emulsion. Pour rose water into the bowl, mix with the argan oil mixture and puree everything with the hand blender until a homogeneous mass is obtained.
  5. Optionally add borage or black cumin oil, stir and pour everything into a jar.
