Soap bubbles delight young and old alike. The colorful floating bubbles provide a lot of fun – and when giant soap bubbles swirl through the air, the fascination is even greater. Unfortunately, the little bottles are empty so quickly! So that you always have enough supplies, we provide you with this various recipes for making soap bubbles yourself before.
Of course, you can reuse the old bottle and simply refill it with the new liquid. Alternatively, a resealable glass or a large bucket for giant soap bubbles is also suitable.
Is glycerin necessary in bubble water?
Many bubble solution recipes contain glycerin, which makes the bubbles more stable. However, synthetic glycerin is produced oil won, which stupidly very bad for the environment and is therefore a real climate killer. 1. Recipe: Make your own soap bubbles with sugar

For you need this recipe:
- 300 milliliters of water
- 90 milliliters of dishwashing liquid
- 40 milliliters corn syrup (isoglucose)

- Mix all ingredients together thoroughly.
- Let the mixture rest for about an hour.
- Finally, stir again.
3. Lye for giant soap bubbles
For fun in the You need the XL version:
- 1 liter of water
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 0.5 teaspoon guar gum
- 50 milliliters of dishwashing liquid
- Whisk
- Measuring cup

4. Make your own soap bubbles with oil
This home remedies you probably already have at home:
- 250 milliliters of lukewarm water
- 4 tablespoons of dishwashing liquid
- approx. 3 drops of cooking oil
- Measuring cup
- vessel
That’s how it’s done:
- Stir detergent into the water.
- When it is completely dissolved, let the mixture rest for about ten minutes.
- Add oil and stir.
5. Bubble water without dish soap
You can also try one out Composition without detergent:
- 0.5 liters of lukewarm water
- 4.5 liters of water
- 250 grams of sugar
- approx. 1 tablespoon wallpaper paste
- approx. 375 milliliters of neutral soap (universal cleaner)
- Bucket/large container
That’s how it’s done:
- Dissolve the sugar in half a liter of lukewarm water by stirring.
- Add the neutral soap and the paste and mix everything well together.
- Let the mixture sit for a day and then mix it with the remaining 4.5 liters of water.
Tip: You can store your finished bubble solution in a canister if you don’t use it all.
DIY blowing stick for soap bubbles
Don’t you have a puff stick anymore? Never mind! You can easily make a new one with just a few materials. Suitable for making:
Pipe cleaners
To make an imaginative stick, all you need is a pipe cleaner! Bend the cleaner into a loop (or a heart) at one end – and the fun begins! If you want more crafting fun, you can also string beads onto it.
cable ties
Use the cable tie to form a loop of the desired size at the top – the blowing stick is ready.
wire
You can also use wire (e.g. from the hardware store or craft store) to make a bubble stick. Wrap it around the top end of the stick (or a stick) a few times and then form a loop at the top. Or just use a long wire!
Bamboo sticks and string for bubble fishing
Bamboo sticks (or similar sticks) that you connect with wool/string are suitable for giant soap bubbles.
Painting with soap bubbles: 3 fun techniques
Soap bubbles can not only be admired and caught – you can also create beautiful works of art with them!
For the soap bubble art you need:
- Acrylic paints/watercolors
- Watercolor paper
- Straws
- Dishwashing liquid
- Water
- vessels
- possibly brush
1. Technique
It works so easily:
- Give approx. two tablespoons of dish soap into your container and mix it in two tablespoons of water.
- Add approx. a tablespoon of your color Add. Mix everything well.
- Add the straw into the mixture until long blowuntil bubbles form (like they used to do with the soda as a child).
- The bubbles rise over the edgeyou can now place a piece of paper on top and create beautiful patterns.
- For different sizes, use different sized containers.
- Finally, let the paper dry.
If the mixture does not foam well, add more dishwashing liquid and possibly a little water until the desired result is achieved.
2. Technique
You can also create beautiful patterns with this method:
- Dip several straws into the finished solution and stir it around.
- Take them out and gently blow bubbles onto your paper (don’t breathe them in!).
- Distribute them however you feel like. Allow your artwork to dry.
3. Technique
- You can also color the bubbles later. To do this, make the foam solution and spread it on your sheet.
- Now use a brush and watercolor to color the bubbles as desired.
