Malfunction at Mastercard: This is known about the problems so far (Update: Statement)

Update June 13th: Mastercard commented on the problems on Twitter. The company announced via the “AskMastercard” account that the reports were being investigated. At the moment, however, payments are still being successfully processed via the network. However, some additional services may not be available. As soon as we have more information, we will get in touch.

The company has now explained to Netzwelt that the disruption has been resolved and operations are functioning normally again.

Since around 5 p.m. today, June 12, we have been receiving more and more reports from you about problems with the credit card in our Mastercard malfunction reporter. According to you, the payment process should not work like this. In fact, a look at Twitter shows that not only in Germany are many users currently having such problems, worldwide there are currently corresponding difficulties.

The problems should occur regardless of the issuing bank and the type of card (debit or credit). Mastercard has not yet commented on this. Customer service on Twitter asks those affected to contact them in a private message.
