BAMAKO (Reuters) – Mali’s ruling military junta promulgated a new electoral law on Friday, a precondition for the holding of elections demanded by ECOWAS, the regional bloc of West African states, to restore the power to civilians.
For months, the soldiers who seized power in Bamako in two successive coups, in August 2020 and May 2021, have been subject to severe sanctions by the Economic Community of East African States. West.
