Disney+ will broadcast a series devoted to the death of Malik Oussekine, a student who died in 1986 under the blows of the police. A drama that will have a great impact in France. He will also blow up his family, as Charles magazine reported in 2012.
On December 6, 1986, Malik Oussekine returns from a jazz concert when he is chased in the lobby of his building by police. This student at the École Supérieure des Professions Immobiliers, aged 22, receives truncheon blows. He died in hospital from his injuries.. His death will have heavy repercussions, the Minister of Education, Alain Devaquet, will resign following this tragedy. Malik’s death will also haveimportant consequences for the family of the young man, as reported by the magazine Charlespublished in 2012.
At that time, Malik’s two older brothersMohamed and Ben Amar, are at the head ofa company with about forty employees which supplies equipment to large hotel groups. But the company will close its doors after the tragedy that affects their family: “In two months everything fell apart. Suppliers cut ties with us when we were number 2 in the market”explains Ben Amar. “The far right put newspaper clippings discrediting us in all the mailboxes on Rue Rannequin, where I lived. We had a great company and they did everything to dirty it“adds Mohamed.
The Oussekine family attacked several times per Minute, the far-right newspaper
Minute, the far-right newspaper, spared nothing to the Oussekine family. He pulls out a survey describing Mohammad of “malefactor”author of fraud, concealment of theft, wanted by Interpol. In another article, the weekly reports that Fatimaone of Malik’s older sisters, is a prostitute. Everytime, the newspaper is doomed. Malik’s second sister, Sarahshe sinks into the depression at the time. Twenty-five years after Malik’s death, when Charles’s article appeared, she had cut ties with her family. She was in contact only with her mother: “I have her on the phone from time to time. I haven’t seen her in six years.” Relations with his two other brothers, Mohamed and Ben Amar, are very strained. “They make me vomit. When one comes from immigration and bears the name Oussekine, one has a responsibility. For oneself but also for all people with an immigrant background in France”she thought.
