Mallorca: This is the fine for violating the mask requirement

If you want to enjoy the Majorcan sun, you should have a respirator with you – even outdoors. New regulations apply from July 13th.

The holiday island of Mallorca again attracts numerous bathing and party guests to Spain. However, since Monday, July 13, 2020, there has been a tightened mask requirement, which was decided by the regional government and controlled by the local police. According to the Federal Foreign Office, anyone who violates the requirement may face fines of around EUR 100.

This is what the new regulations look like

The mask requirement applies both in closed public spaces such as bars, restaurants or sights, as well as outdoors. In short: wherever other people can be met. The only exceptions are the beach and hotel pools. It is not necessary to wear a mask here.

Even athletes who move outdoors can do without mouth and nose protection while exercising. Children under the age of six and people who cannot wear a mask for health reasons are also exempt from the obligation.
