Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, reacted modestly to his royal meeting in London. His mother spilled the beans.

He is one of the most successful football players in the USA and is dating one of the most popular singers in the world: But meeting Prince William (42) was apparently anything but a given for Taylor Swift’s (34) boyfriend Travis Kelce (34). His mother Donna Kelce (71) has now revealed a modest reaction to the royal backstage moment on June 21st in London.

The 71-year-old said in an interview with “Extra” that Travis told her that meeting the British royal and two of his three children was “one of the coolest things.” The Crown Prince attended Taylor Swift’s opening concert at London’s Wembley Stadium on his 42nd birthday along with his daughter Charlotte (9) and son George (11). The three royals then met the singer and her boyfriend Travis Kelce backstage. They captured the whole thing in selfies. The day after the show Swift posted a snapshot on Instagram. “Happy birthday M8! The London shows are off to a great start,” she wrote. Also the future king shared a photowhich was missing Travis Kelce.

“Who doesn’t fit into this picture?”

Apparently, the Kansas City Chiefs star also struggled with his own importance at the meeting, as his mother now revealed: “He said, ‘When you meet people like that, you know, when the Royals come in or Paul McCartney or Hugh Grant… “If there’s someone in the suite, you just think, ‘Who doesn’t fit in this picture? Why am I here and why am I even allowed to talk to these people?'” When asked how her son Dealing with such crazy encounters, Donna Kelce added: “But I think he’s dealing with it quite well, he’s a pretty friendly guy.”

On his podcast “New Heights” The sports professional had already spoken about the royal encounter himself and said that William was “cool” and “great”. It was a “true joy” to get to know him and his children. Before that, however, he had thought about how he should greet the royals. He wasn’t sure “whether I should bow to them, curtsy or just be an American idiot and shake their hands.”
