Man found beheaded in Tarn-et-Garonne: the suspect admits to having killed his roommate

Three days after the macabre discovery of a beheaded and dismembered man on the side of a road, near Montauban, the victim’s roommate was indicted for murder after confessing

The criminal investigation into the discovery, Friday, of a man whose decapitated body continues this Monday, December 27. It is a couple of walkers who had made the macabre discovery on the side of a road in the town of Albias, in the Tarn. “He is a 31-year-old man known to the courts for traffic offenses and acts of theft,” the interim prosecutor of Montauban indicated on Saturday. Immediately, the investigators favored the hypothesis of the villainous crime.

A fight between roommates?

According to La Dépêche du Midi, a suspect was arrested by the gendarmes on Christmas Day. “The investigations […] made it possible to identify and arrest the alleged perpetrator of the crime, during the search of the home of the victim residing a few hundred meters from the place of discovery of the body, ”wrote in a statement the deputy prosecutor of Montauban Anne Gaullier. The suspect, said the prosecution, confessed during his police custody “to have killed his friend with knives and kicks, and to have subsequently dismembered for the purposes of concealing the corpse”.

A fight with knives, during an alcoholic evening, between this man and the victim, who would in fact be roommates, would be at the origin of the tragedy. The fifty-year-old would then have undertaken to cut up the stabbed body to get rid of it in a field, not far from the scene of the crime. An altercation had already opposed the two men a few months earlier.

The alleged murderer, aged 52, from Reunion Island, had already been sentenced by the courts for sexual exhibition and death threats. Arrested on Saturday, he was remanded in custody on Monday, after his custody.
