After Mandy Capristo had to say goodbye to her dog Capone forever in December 2023, a new four-legged friend unexpectedly conquered her heart and her home.
In 2023, Mandy Capristo’s, 34, beloved four-legged friend Capone was diagnosed with cancer that had already spread. Back then, the singer “didn’t spend a night without tears”. In December the musician had to say goodbye to your best friend forever. “I have never loved anyone as much as I love you,” she wrote in a moving Instagram statement. After a three-month mourning period, the former “Monrose” member has now let a new dog into his life – and is once again turning to his over 700,000 followers.

With a soulful smile and both arms, Mandy Capristo hugs the little fur nose. Your new pooch seems to feel safe. She also shares seven more recordings from her dog’s first days – including a video of the first time they met each other. It shows Mandy taking the blonde four-legged friend with floppy ears out of the dog box, petting him and taking him straight into her heart. A touching scene.
The singer probably wouldn’t have expected that she would let another dog soul into her life so soon after Capone’s death. She writes on Instagram:
When I was asked after saying goodbye to Capone whether I was going to buy a new dog, I found it very strange. I couldn’t understand the train of thought. As if one could simply replace feelings, memories, a shared history…
“Numerous and incredible coincidences”
But then fate caught up with Mandy Capristo. She states: “Numerous and incredible coincidences that couldn’t be better written in a script became fate. As if Capone had directed from above.”
Tragic meaning behind dog names
Now “the great fighter” is lying next to her. Mandy named the dog “Novel”. There is a tragic story behind it. Because Novel originally comes from Croatia and is “the only one of her siblings who survived.” Capristo was able to adopt her through a “great organization.”
She is very happy to “finally give the little one a warm and safe home after months in the kennel.” That’s why it’s called Novel – to “write a new life ‘novel’ together with Mandy Capristo.”
