Synopsis
If the term ” hero often rhymes with justice and beneficence, Choujin X literally breaks the codes by integrating an unhealthy balance between shadow and light. In 1998, people with mutations and qualified as superhumans become so numerous that the world is seen divided into autonomous provinces.
The story of the manga does not begin until fifty years later, when the fate of Ely, a Tomatoei farmer, is turned upside down by a plane crash. It will not be the only one, since this event will also have repercussions on the peaceful daily life of high school students. Tokio Kurohara and Azuma Higashi who usually play vigilante against small neighborhood thugs.
For the little story, Sui Ishida became known through the famous manga, declined in animated, what is Tokyo Ghoul. His questioning about the definition of good and evil was only in its infancy. With a powerful active ingredient with Tokyo Ghoul, Sui Ishida arrives here once again to bring the reader into a state of intense curiosity. The manga offers us phases of misunderstanding, strewing characters both upset by events, but faithful to their principles. Although the story is confused by the assembly of actions and places, allowing the mise en abyme, there is a guiding thread that will have to be followed with a certain rigor and which the second volume will certainly allow us to clarify.
Despite a dark background, the manga knows how to combine all the emotions to give a heart to the work. All is not black, although the tension is palpable over the pages and the protagonists maintain human and coherent reasoning. We can laugh with them, share their facial expressions, both physical and moral, and quickly understand the life they lead as well as their relationships.
Ultimately, VSwowX-jin offers readers a great complementarity between drawings and writings to integrate the reader as soon as possible, attach it to the feelings of the characters to share feelings. Good and evil become one as we let ourselves be carried away by each other’s decisions. The first volume is enough to set the tone. The story moves forward smoothly and the pause phases are well chosen to keep the reader alert.
