Manga Festival of Peymeinade 2022: a weekend under the sign of video games and pop-culture for this seventh edition!

This seventh edition of Manga Fest de Peymeinade will take place on October 29 and 30 at the David Douillet gymnasium in this town in the hinterland of Grasse. Still without any commercial purpose, it is organized by the communication, culture and associations department of the city and has for objective only the pleasure of the visitors in love with the Asian culture. The entrance to the festival is also free for minors and only two euros per day, or three euros on weekends, for adults.

This new edition of the show offers new stands and several entertainment centers to spend a pleasant day. On the program, various stands will offer for sale goodies, origami foldings, video games, board games, figurines and manga comics. Asian specialties will also be on sale for all those who want to discover or rediscover Asian cuisine.

On the animation side, comics, manga, lightsaber fights, hado e-sport, drawing workshops, kimono workshops, calligraphy workshops, three inflatable structures, a laser game, origami workshops, video games, virtual reality, shogi , martial arts demonstration and the unmissable cosplay contest will be on the agenda.

In the part that concerns us, we will be on site with a stand split in two. On the video game side, there will be a PlayStation 5 console (free play) and Nintendo Switches that will be managed by our friends at the association LaxFly Game Tournament and two members of the association Twilight of the Gods. We will organize several tournaments Super Smash Bros. UltimateSaturday 299 and Sunday 30 October. On the virtual reality side, our stand will offer positions with new experiences accessible from the age of seven. Our driving simulator on cylinders will be present as well as two haptic jackets to enjoy even more immersive experiences. You can try, on request, the Pico 4 and Meta Quest Pro VR headsets.

Asian specialties will be on sale for all those who want to discover or rediscover Asian cuisine.

cosplay contest (Saturday October 29, 4:30 p.m.):
For cosplay enthusiasts, a competition will be organized as well as a parade. Those interested can register on site from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The parade will begin at 4:30 p.m. and the awards ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m.

Lightsaber battles:
Light Saber Company will demonstrate lightsaber fights and engage the public to the delight of Stars Wars fans!

This collective game combines the virtual and the real thanks to augmented reality. The goal is to hit opponents while avoiding enemy shots.

Kimono workshop
Saturday, October 29 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, October 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Want to discover the art of kimono? Because it is indeed an art in Japan! This complex and ancestral garment must be worn in a certain way. The Manabi association in Nice will be happy to introduce you to it.

drawing workshop
Saturday October 29 and Sunday October 30 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Budding artists can learn the techniques of manga drawing.

origami workshop

A workshop will be organized for folding enthusiasts. Participants will be able to learn how to make cranes, stars, flowers, a fox, a heart and more… a creative and relaxing activity.

Japanese calligraphy workshop

This traditional Japanese board game close to the game of chess will appeal to
strategy game enthusiasts.

Outdoor laser tag
Saturday October 29 and Sunday October 30 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
This shooting simulation game in which players equipped with infrared blasters compete in a limited time will allow you to fight while having fun! The goal is to hit as many opponents as possible in order to achieve victory.
