Manifest is over: how does the Netflix series end?

Netflix has released the final part of the Manifest series which has fascinated and questioned fans around the world for 5 years.

Here we are. After five years and four seasons full of twists and turns, Netflix finally released the ten final episodes of Manifest on June 2. The series, which she saved from cancellation, followed a group of returning passengers after their plane went missing for 5½ years. They haven’t aged a bit and don’t really know what happened to them at that time. Until now.

In Part 2 of Season 4, the Passengers find themselves locked in a detention center where their Calls are checked. The goal being to find out how they really work and try to solve them in order to hopefully survive the death date, scheduled for June 2, 2024. Meanwhile, Angelina (Holly Taylor) – who is still alive and who has absorbed part of the sapphire – gathers around her the faithful to whom she promises a place on her ark at the time of the Apocalypse.

The signs of the end of time are more and more present with the arrival of the Ten Plagues of Egypt: swarms of locusts, then ulcers to end with water that turns into blood… Very quickly , the planet is affected by many earthquakes and lava cracks are observed everywhere. The volcano, which we find in Al-Zuras’ card game, is finally here.

Cal (Ty Doran) realizes he must be one with the omega sapphire but Angelina refuses his help. Saanvi then remembers that the driftwood from Noah’s ark also contains the substance. When the boy makes contact with him, he disappears before his father’s eyes, stunned. The next day, the day of their date of death, the missing plane appears in the same place.

The passengers board but they are caught by Angelica and her followers, who ask them to get off because they are not worthy to live according to her. As the ground rumbles and threatens to drag the plane into the bowels of the Earth, all the passengers board the plane except Ben and Angelica. The patriarch decides to save the life of the young woman despite her crimes. The airplane takes off.

The final judgment

The captain of the plane decides to enter the white light, which is the divine consciousness. It’s time for the final judgment: all those who have not worked for good in recent years are dying. Including Angelica. Saanvi survives despite the murder she committed, as her good deeds tipped the scales in her favor. A dark shadow then appears in front of them, who we imagine to be the Grim Reaper, most likely unhappy with the number of souls she has collected.

The passages stand together, reminding him of how they tried to save humanity by answering the Calls. The shadow disappears and the plane is immobilized. When they get off the plane, they realize they’re back at the airport…at the very moment of their disappearance. Flight 828 finally landed and didn’t go missing for 5 years.

Ben (Josh Dallas) discovers that his wife is still alive, Michaela falls into her mother’s arms… We find Cal as a child (thanks to digital rejuvenation). Only passengers remember the events of recent years.

Michaela runs to Jared and returns his engagement ring, as she knows he has to end up with Drea (who was pregnant with him). She decides to go find Zeke while knowing that even if he does not know her and that he has no memory of her past life, they are made for each other.

The series also ends with this line: “No one can explain what happened to us on April 7, 2013. What I do know is that day changed our lives forever“. In other words, everyone has to make their own theory…
