What are tools used for in Manor Lords?
When we are interested in the goods that Manor Lords allows us to manufacture, we quickly realize that the list is very long and sometimes cryptic. Thus, among these goods, tools come back with insistence even though it is possible to obtain them in several different ways. Except that for the moment, the tools are almost useless. As the game is in early access, the tools in Manor Lords currently have no function other than trade. It is possible to sell them and we can see that they are listed in the build tab of the heads-up display, potentially telling us their future usefulness. That being said, if you still want to produce some, here is the procedure to follow.
There are different ways to obtain tools. It is first possible to buy them using the trading post by establishing a trade route there. If you want to favor local production, two options are available to you, but you will first have to harvest iron ore. To do this, be sure to build an open pit mine on top of an iron deposit. Once your mine is completed, you can build a blast furnace that will allow you to transform your iron ores into iron ingots.
Once this step is completed, it is time to build a forge. The latter will then produce tools in exchange for iron ingots.. Also note that it is possible to build a blacksmith’s workshop as an extension of the backyard of your level 2 censives, offering you an alternative to the forge which constitutes a single building. The tools produced in this way can then be exported and earn you money by establishing a trade route using a trading post.
