At first it looked as if Manuel Cortez would have a mild course after a corona infection. Now he had to go to the hospital.
On his birthday, actor Manuel Cortez (42) recently announced that he was spending the day in quarantine because he was infected with the corona virus. His health has since deteriorated so much that he is now in the hospital. “My corona process was very relaxed at first, then I got a higher and higher fever and then in the end I started to breathe difficultly”, explains Cortez in an Instagram story from the clinic.
He went to the hospital, where it was found that he had lung damage. Cortez is getting oxygen and has to stay there for the time being. At the moment the actor is “fine again” according to the circumstances. He no longer has a fever and is “actually fit”, but his lungs are causing him problems. On his birthday on May 24th, he had stated in a story that he had a mild course with flu-like symptoms.
“I could not anymore”
“Get vaccinated, people,” calls Cortez in his Instagram story now. He understands “why Corona is also dangerous”. It is often said that the illness is similar to the flu, “but I’ve had many flu in my life, but I’ve never been so sick”. For six days, the actor had a consistently high fever. This has “really brought him to the edge of my physical and mental limits”. Antipyretic drugs would not have helped either.
The illness brought him “to the edge of my existence”. He learned again that “life is precious”. Cortez says: “At some point I was so exhausted. There was nothing more with a positive mindset. There was nothing more with medication. There was nothing more with mental training. I just couldn’t muster the strength anymore.” Anyone could come to a limit where “all of these things can no longer be implemented so easily. […] I could not anymore. […] I just lay there and said, ‘Please, please, I need help.’ “The actor is grateful that he got this help.
