The actor got engaged despite being afraid of marriage

Manuel Cortez is engaged to his partner Saina Bayatpour. In his podcast he talks about the great fear of this step.
Manuel Cortez (44) changes his life plan. The actor has been in a relationship with entrepreneur Saina Bayatpour since 2021. Now he announces the engagement. “That’s a big deal for me because I’ve always been very afraid of getting married and never wanted to. I never thought I’d ever do it,” he says in his podcast “Freigeist by Manuel Cortez.”
His parents’ divorce had such an impact on the “In Love in Berlin” star that he always had a negative view of the marriage. “For me, marriage was always the surrender of freedom, for the man it was the total loss through divorce, the servitude,” he explains. But now Cortez has decided to give himself the experience of marriage. “Marriage per se is no more good than it is bad. It’s always the question of why you’re doing it, who you’re doing it with and what you can gain from it,” he explains.
Manuel Cortez wrote a song for the proposal
In the podcast, the 44-year-old also reveals some details about his application. “I asked Saina if she wanted to marry me on her birthday in February. I wrote her a song, sat down and sang the song to her. And she said yes,” he says. Now the date of the marriage is getting closer and closer.
“I’m looking forward to experiencing something new for myself in this life. And I’m also really looking forward to the wedding, all my friends are coming. We’re just looking at such beautiful locations,” enthuses Cortez. His family is already firmly involved in the wedding planning.

The couple originally announced the happy news of their engagement a video on Instagram known. “We’re getting married. It’s so easy to say ‘yes’ when ‘forever’ feels so free. We’ve experienced a lot together, grown together, matured, healed,” they wrote about the clip with their most beautiful ones moments. Cortez and Bayatpour found their “soul mate” and unconditional love in each other.
Manuel Cortez and Saina Bayatpour have officially been together for three years. The “Anna and Love” actor was previously in a relationship with the designer Miyabi Kawai. The separation followed in 2019 after 14 years together.
