Many new routes – unique lifestyle when paddling on the lake

An “open water paradise” for canoeing, kayaking and stand-up paddling has now opened. 31 entry points and many routes on Lake Wörthersee – from the Lend Canal to Velden!

Paddlers will not only find a paddling paradise along the Klagenfurt Lend Canal and the Ostbucht, but also around the lake that is unique in Austria. All routes can be found at sup.woerthersee.com. “Paddling enthusiasts now know where to get on, which tours are available and where to park. There are a total of 31 different entry points,” says the Wörthersee tourism experts. It doesn’t matter whether it’s stand-up paddling, canoeing or kayaking – all water sports are included. Tours lead the paddlers from Lendhafen to Velden. “All entry points were implemented in coordination with nature conservation,” emphasizes Helmuth Micheler from Klagenfurt Tourism. There are large protection zones, especially in the Lendspitz area. For many holidaymakers, the water sports experience is one of the main reasons for a holiday on Lake Wörthersee. There are several rental locations along the lake. “The Lend Canal is also gaining in importance as a result of the project and is once again becoming an adventure route,” says tourism officer Max Habenicht. “The ‘Open Water Paradise’ is intended to convey a sense of life at Lake Wörthersee.”
