Many unsure – These three cash injections are now being paid out

From September 1st, i.e. today, the climate bonus will land on the accounts – and it comes with guesswork. Because other financial injections are also being paid out at the same time and there was apparently too little information from the federal government in advance, there is great confusion. We provide an overview of all current financial aid and explain who is entitled to what.

Sonja K. was amazed when she picked up her pension on Thursday – and she’s not alone. The Carinthian was happy about more money than usual. No wonder, since the €500 climate bonus is currently being paid out. However, the joy of numerous retirees was quickly dampened: while Sonja’s husband received an additional 500 euros, only 112.64 euros ended up in her own account. Sonja K. received a disappointing explanation from the Pensionsversicherungsanstalt (PVA): “Because your pension is less than 960 euros net, you will be paid this bonus aliquot – exactly 14.2 percent. Her husband gets more pension and therefore the full 500 euros. But we are not responsible for the climate bonus.” The “Krone” asked and can give the all-clear: The bonus that Ms. S. and her husband received with their pension is actually not the climate bonus. Because several cash injections are currently being distributed: “The payment of this additional aid will begin on September 1st, quickly, unbureaucratically and directly. For a family with two children, this means: After the double family allowance in August, you will now receive at least another 1,500 euros directly,” said Chancellor Karl Nehammer (ÖVP). Climate bonus: 500 euros for all adults, 250 euros for children Inflation adjustment: 300 euros for people on low incomes Extraordinary one-off payment: up to 500 euros for pensioners; for employees from 2023 climate bonus: 500 euros for everyone The climate bonus will be paid out from September 1st, so it can only appear in the account in the next few days and weeks. It amounts to 500 euros and consists of a 250-euro climate bonus and a 250-euro anti-inflation bonus. All adults whose account details are known will be paid directly. Retirees get it on the account to which the pension is also transferred. Children are entitled to 250 euros. Read here how to get your climate bonus.Up to 500 euros for pensionersThe bonus that caused Ms. S. confusion today is an extraordinary one-off payment for pensioners: depending on the amount of your pension, up to 500 euros will be transferred to you. Everyone with a pension between 1200 and 1800 euros gets the full amount. For smaller and larger pensions, there is a loop-in or loop-out regulation – Ms. S. is affected by this. This direct help is also available for all employees – in the form of the cost-of-living allowance, which can be claimed from January 2023 in the tax equalization with low income – such as minimum pensioners or recipients of minimum security, unemployment benefits and study grants. For many people with low incomes, the additional annual income increases by around ten percent as a result of the emergency aid. Social Minister Johannes Rauch (Greens): “Up to 1000 euros per person are an important contribution to cushioning the price increases for energy, food and housing. People will receive the money in their accounts in the next few days.”
