For the past two years, the State has been offering a bonus for energy renovation: MaPrimeRénov’.

Who can benefit ? What works are involved? Can it be combined with other aids?

What is MaPrimeRénov’?

With the explosion of energy costs, many people want to optimize the comfort of their homes by updating the insulation of the walls from the outside or by installing a solar water heater. Also, the government has set up specific aid for this energy renovation: MaPrimeRénov’.

This bonus was launched at the beginning of 2020 and is intended to be accessible to all owners as well as to all housing co-ownerships at least 15 years old. It is also open to housing built for at least two years, as regards the replacement of an oil-fired boiler.

MaPrimeRénov’ thus makes it possible to finance the work of insulation, heating, ventilation or energy audit of a single house or an apartment in collective housing, provided that the work is carried out by companies recognized as guarantors for the ‘environment. All works which have been quoted and started since 1er October 2020 are eligible for the new aid terms.

Combining energy aid is possible!

The other good news is that this bonus can indeed be combined with other aid for energy renovation. For example, it is quite possible to combine it with the help of energy saving certificates (EEC), with aid from local authorities, or even with that of Action Logement.

And that’s not all ! MaPrimeRénov’ can also be combined with a zero-rate eco-loan (eco-PTZ), which makes it possible to finance energy-saving work (up to 30,000 euros) in your home. Not to mention that the work in question also benefits from a reduced VAT of 5.5%.

For those interested, there is an aid estimation tool (Simul’aides) which allows you to define the level of national (but not local) aid to which you are likely to be entitled.
