Following the death in Ukraine of Frédéric Leclerc Imhoff, a young journalist from BFMTV, Marc-Olivier Fogiel, general manager of the channel appeared very moved on the set, alongside the young man’s colleagues.
The writing of BFM TV is in mourning tonight. Frédéric Leclerc Imhoff, one of their field journalists, was killed by the explosion of a shell while he was following a humanitarian operation in an armored vehicle.
Since the announcement of his death, in the late afternoon of Monday, May 30, the channel is in special edition and receives several colleagues and family members of the young journalist 32 years old. For the occasion, Marc-Olivier Fogiel also wanted to speak on the set of the chain of which he is the general manager.

Faced with journalists, the former presenter tried to hide his emotion during a solemn speech: “It was the second time that Frédéric had gone to Ukraine, at his request. I’ll tell you about the phone call I made to his mom. His first reaction was to ask how Maxime was doing (Brandstaetter, his colleague, editor’s note)”he confided on the set of BFM TV.
Marc-Olivier Fogiel, continued his tribute to Frédéric Leclerc-Imhoff, saluting the courage of the young journalist who died in the field: “The BFMTV teams have been in the field for three months. Frédéric weighed every minute of his mission. With his team, they decided where they were going. Tonight, what dominates with us is grief but also pride”did he declare.

Frédéric Leclerc Imhoff worked for BFM TV as image reporter for six years. During the explosion of shells which cost him his life, the young man was accompanied by two colleagues.
The first, Maxime Brandstaetter, was slightly injured, while the second, Oksana Leuta, emerged physically unscathed: “From a distance, we try to measure the capacity of our journalists. There, it is the fault with the bad luck. They were in an armored vehicle (…) Frédéric and Oksana felt that the mission was secure enough to go there. Maxime had more reservations but they decided as a team”detailed Marc-Olivier Fogiel.
