The “Bridgerton” family mourns the loss of their deceased hair and make-up stylist Marc Pilcher. The Emmy Prize winner died of Covid-19 at the age of 53. Nicola Coughlan (34), who plays the role of Penelope Featherington in the Netflix series, says goodbye on Instagram: “The loss of Marc Pilcher, the brilliant and visionary hair and makeup stylist from the first season of ‘Bridgerton’, is so heartbroken. Marc was so passionate about his work and so incredibly talented,” she writes to a black and white photo of Pilcher.
It was not even a month ago when Pilcher won his first Emmy in the category “Best Hair Styling” for “Bridgerton”. It is a tragedy that he died so young. He still had a lot of plans. Her thoughts are with his family and friends. In addition, Coughlan wants to remind you again of the dangers that the corona virus brings with it. “Please, get vaccinated and wear a mask to protect yourself and others,” she appeals. “Bridgerton” star Phoebe Dynevor (26), who played the lead role Daphne Bridgerton in the first season, also spoke up on Instagram and shared Coughlan’s contribution. She writes in a story: “Find no words”.
An Oscar nomination
Marc Pilcher has been involved in the styling of numerous important film and series projects in his long career, including “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” (2019) and “Downton Abbey”. In 2018 he was nominated for an Oscar for the film “Maria Stuart, Queen of Scotland” in the category “Best Make-up and Best Hairstyles”.
