A break synonymous with “new start”. At the end of December, Mariah Carey and her companion Bryan Tanaka announced their separation, after seven years of romance. Sunday December 31, the 54-year-old star wanted to show that from now on, in 2024, she would change her old habits.
So to do this, the diva – known for having very particular lifestyle habits – published a photograph of herself on her Instagram account… under her “bad profile”. Indeed, for years, the interpreter of All I Want for Christmas Is You refuses to be photographed in her profile which she considers less good than the other. Then, as a proof of good faith, the singer poses, head turned to the right, in a sparkling dress. In the caption, she wrote: “New year, new beginning… take a photo of my ‘bad side’!”
New era
For several weeks, rumors of separation accumulated in the tabloids. Finally, on December 20, the man who became the star’s artistic director confirmed the rumors in a message published on his social networks. “It is with mixed emotions that I share this personal news regarding my amicable separation from Mariah Carey after seven extraordinary years together”, wrote the dancer. Thanking Mariah Carey and her children for their “warmth and kindness”, the choreographer ends up saying: “They have enriched my life in ways that cannot be described in words.”
Secondly, the artist also evokes the professional aspect that he shared with his ex-partner, fourteen years his senior, who will remain “forever engraved in his heart”. And for good reason, the interpreter of Touch My Body and the one who would become her spouse began their collaboration in 2006, during the tour Adventures of Mimi.
For her part, Mariah Carey did not react to this announcement. But, according to her Instagram post, the Diva with 230 million records sold is ready to do her best to move forward… more authentic?
