Mariah Carey faces a lawsuit from her sister. This demands compensation in the amount of one million euros.
Mariah Carey (50) is apparently being sued by her own sister. As reported by the US portal "Variety", among others, Alison A. Carey is to take action in a court in New York against the content of the singer's autobiography. In "The Meaning of Mariah Carey" the broken relationship between the two women is thematized, in which Mariah Carey claims to have been abused by her sister as a child. Alison A. Carey is eight years older than her famous sister.
In her lawsuit, Alison Carey is now demanding at least $ 1.25 million for "inflicting massive emotional suffering" through "heartless, vicious, vengeful, obnoxious and completely unnecessary public humiliation," according to "Variety" . The "cruel and outrageous allegations" had "devastated" the plaintiff. Since the book was published, "she has been severely depressed," the report alleges, among other things.
Mariah Carey should not have commented on this yet. "The Meaning of Mariah Carey" was released last fall and became a bestseller. The singer has already talked about making a film or a miniseries out of the book.
