Marianne and Michael Hartl will say goodbye to the stage in 2024. “The time we still have is precious,” explains Michael Hartl.

The singing and moderation duo Marianne (70) and Michael Hartl (74) announced on the “NDR Talkshow” in October 2022 that they wanted to withdraw from the public soon. Now the couple has talked about plans to end their careers. “Our tour in spring 2024 will be the last,” explains Marianne Hartl in an interview with “Apotheken Umschau”.

The two would certainly continue to be in the public eye. “We like to be invited because we exude a good mood,” says the 70-year-old. “Or because people want to hear how you manage to stay happily together as a couple for so long.” The two have been married since 1979 and have two sons. They got to know each other in 1973 and a short time later they were engaged as a singing and musician duo.

Another festival of the year

In the past year, the couple had to cope with a health setback. Michael Hartl suffered a severe stroke in March 2022. “We now know that life is finite. That’s why we will end our careers next year,” explains Marianne Hartl in an interview with the health magazine. “The time we still have is precious,” explains her husband. That’s why he’s celebrating another festival in the year: “The day I had the stroke. It was a low blow, but I got up again.”
