While Marilyn Monroe has never met her father, a French documentary entitled “Marilyn, her final secret” assured to have found his trace thanks to DNA.
This is no surprise to anyone: Marilyn Monroe never met her biological father. Worse still: the identity of the man who gave life to one of the biggest Hollywood stars in history has always been unknown. At least, until now. Because a French documentary seems to have pierced the mystery. Entitled “Marilyn, her final secret”, director François Pomès assured that he had completed the investigation using DNA analysis technology.
To find the biological father of the beauty icon who disappeared in 1962 at the age of 36, the latter sought the services of an archaeo-geneticist by the name of Ludovic Orlando. This scientist worked based on a hair of Marilyn Monroe and a saliva sample belonging to the great-grandson of Charles Stanley Gifford, who is none other than the supposed father of the former Hollywood star.

In an interview with Variety, François Pomès gave more information on this incredible discovery. “Marilyn Monroe’s hair was taken by the person who embalmed the body the day she died and we were able to draw up 22% of its genetic profile thanks to the DNA fragment found in keratin. We spent years and many sleepless nights working to unlock this family secret. The thing that touched me the most was seeing the reaction of the Gifford family who were overwhelmed by this irrefutable evidence.. This unmissable documentary will be on view next June on the whole story channel.
