Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: New circuits soon to be unveiled by Nintendo in DLC?

Additional circuits are expected on the ultimate and timeless racing game for the Nintendo Switch, we of course mean Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The second Wave of circuits is long overdue, and a mysterious tweet comes to tease the community even more.

Circuit wave 2 leaked

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s additional tracks come in the form of paid DLCs that are released in waves. In all, a total of 48 circuits additional divided into 6 Waves will come out by the end of 2023. These are remastered races from across the entire Mario Kart series. The first Wave was released in March 2022, but the second is long overdue.

However, Nintendo’s Dutch twitter account published a few days ago a list of circuits presented as being those of Wave 2.

Start your engines! The second wave of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Circuit Expansion Pass will be available on Nintendo Switch on July 22! » claims @NintendoNL.

Of course, no content was released on that date. So, error of a community manager, leak in good and due form, or false information? For the moment, Nintendo has not reacted to the gaffe, but the tweet was deleted very quickly.

According to the images that can be seen on Nintendo Nederland’s tweet, here are the 8 circuits of Wave 2:

  • Sprint in Sydney – Mario Kart Tour
  • Cheep Cheep Island – Mario Kart: Super Circuit
  • Daisy’s Liner – Mario Kart: Double Dash
  • Mushroom Throat – Mario Kart Wii
  • Pursuit in Singapore – Mario Kart Tour
  • Souk Maskass – Mario Kart 7
  • Twilight Country – Mario Kart: Super Circuit
  • Pinball Waluigi – Mario Kart DS

This list is of course to be taken with a grain of salt, since it could very well be an intox. However, many of these race names can be found in the previous leak suffered by Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in March 2022, after the deployment of the first Wave.

Nintendo Live 2022

In any case, Nintendo shouldn’t take too long to unveil Wave 2, because leak or not, they have a schedule to respect for the releases of the other additional circuits. Note that a Nintendo event, the Nintendo Livewill take place on October 8 and 9, 2022.

Wave 2 of Mario Kart Deluxe 8’s additional races will most certainly be revealed before, but we’re willing to bet that the special event will still have its share of announcements and surprises.
