Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: Nintendo announces European Championship – This is how you qualify as a top player

• The first qualifying round of the European Championship begins on August 19th.
• Anyone with an active Nintendo Switch Online membership can participate.
• The eight best drivers qualify for the final from October 7th to 8th.

If you easily win every race in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, then you might want to consider competing in the European Championship for the title. Nintendo is looking for the best European player.

From August 19th there will be a total of three different qualification phases in which you can prove your skills in online races.

To take part in the upcoming qualifying rounds, you will need an active Nintendo Switch Online membership and a copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

If you meet these requirements, you can go to the menu items “Online Tournament”, “Tournament” and “Search with Code” on your Switch during tournament times and enter the corresponding code for the tournament day there.

Depending on their placement, all drivers collect points in each race. The eight best-placed drivers in each qualifying tournament ultimately compete against each other in Bad Vilbel.
