Currently in version 3.4.0 with its Sorbet seasonthe mobile game Mario Kart Tour is supported by Nintendo since its launch almost four years ago in September 2019 on Android and iOS devices. Since then, there have been many additions to entertain players around the world, but all good things must come to an end. Indeed, a service message has been broadcast in-game in the “News”, which should sadden regulars.
As you can read from our screenshot, there Anniversary season will be the last unpublished one and all the following ones from October 4 will only be repeats of those that have already taken place. New players will be able to take advantage of this to get up to speed, but this therefore marks the end of new content additions in Mario Kart Tour, no more circuits, drivers, karts and additional wings being planned. The beginning of the end before a server shutdown? Let’s hope not and that we can play this fun production for a few more years.
Part of the plots of this episode were also included in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe through the Additional circuit passes (sold €24.99 on Amazon), the last wave of additions of which is planned by the end of the year. Without a doubt, Nintendo is actively working on the design of the next episode for its future console which will succeed the Switch.
