Sports games from the Mario license are very often oriented towards local or online multiplayer. Mario Strikers Battle League Football is no exception to this rule, but online multiplayer is still at the heart of the debate.
Mario Strikers: 8-player multiplayer?
If you are remotely interested in the game, you may have seen that you can play locally and online with 7 other players. Indeed, this is also what is indicated on the eShop page however, at present, the title of Next Level Games offers it locally, but as soon as you want to play wirelessly or online, you can only play with a maximum of two players on each team. The only way to do 4vs4 online is by playing two players on the console and teaming up with another console that also has two players.

8-player multiplayer, a feature that will come later for free?
Many of you want to be able to play four on four online and that’s understandable since there are eight players available so we would have expected to see a system allowing each player to control only one of the characters on the ground. Unfortunately, this is only possible locally or in Club Strikers (under certain conditions) at the moment, but we can expect to see an update will change that later since free updates are planned.
On our side, we hope so that the matches can become more interesting online with real team cohesion. Then, since this opus wants to highlight multiplayer, it would be a shame to deprive yourself of this possibility which would allow you to play 4vs4 online with your friends or through matchmaking.
