Marion Bartoli: what she especially does not want to pass on to her daughter

On December 18, 2020, Marion Bartoli became the mother of a little Kamylia, born of her union with the Belgian footballer, Yahya Boumediene.

To each parent his own methods of education. Marion Bartoli, she already has a good idea of hers. Mom of a little Kamylia since December 18, 2020, the tennis champion spoke about her new daily life during an interview with Closerrevealing living a “absolute happiness” with her husband Yahya Boumediene, since the arrival of their daughter. “I really have this maternal fiber, I love spending time with her, playing with her. All those minutes when I have her next to me and I see her smile are minutes of absolute happiness.” she confided, moved.

But as she enjoys the pleasures of motherhood, the 2013 Wimbledon winner already has a clear idea of where she wants to go with her daughter’s education. And it all starts with the values of sport: “We really want to give him the values of sport. My husband is also a top athlete, and I think top sport gives a lot of very important values for the rest of your life.”she explained. “The values of humility, learning, difficulty, concentration, pushing one’s limits… everything that makes a top athlete. And even if she doesn’t succeed at the highest level in tennis, we still want to give her those values, it’s going to be something very important for us.”

Marion Bartoli doesn’t want to give her daughter “the impression that everything in life is easy”

And if the tenniswoman knows the values she wants to pass on to her offspring, she is also very specific about what she wants to avoid in the education of Kamylia. Daughter of a general practitioner from the Loire Valley with no connection to the world of sport, Marion Bartoli worked tirelessly to reach the upper echelons of international tennis. And even if her daughter will leave with more ease than her, she wants to instill in her the importance of perseverance and hard work: “Inevitably, she will have more facilities in life because of her status, which is different from the one with which I was born. We’re going to have to strike a balance and not overcrowd her and over-indulge her, so that she doesn’t get the impression that everything in life is easy, that you have to work to earn something. It’s a balance that’s not easy to strike when you have parents who are quite successful. This is the big difficulty, but we will try to tackle it.”

Marion Bartoli hosted the 2021 Roland-Garros matches on behalf of Amazon Prime Video, and this is also the case this year.
