As she prepares to support Eric Zemmour during his meeting in Toulon this Sunday, March 6, the granddaughter of Jean-Marie Le Pen officially changes sides, and indeed turns her back on her aunt.
Marion Maréchal and Marine Le Pen, it’s over. This Sunday, March 6, Marion Maréchal will formalize her rallying to the Zemmour camp, and thus, her final break with her very dear aunt. The 32-year-old politician intends to support Eric Zemmour in his candidacy for the presidential election by going to his meeting today in Toulon.
The two women who were very close and united in the past have thus taken very different paths, and the divide seems total as the 2022 presidential elections approach.
Marion Maréchal intends to formalize her support for Eric Zemmour this Sunday, March 6
For several months, Marion Maréchal had announced her estrangement from the Le Pen family in terms of politics, but this estrangement also took effect on their personal life. Marine Le Pen did not attend her niece’s wedding last Septemberwhich among other things set the tone for the family atmosphere at the Le Pens.
In this same month of September 2021, Marion Maréchal, interviewed by journalists, however refused to take the side of Eric Zemmour and did not wish “harming Marine Le Pen’s campaign”. She said then that she wanted to stay “outside the game”: “Eric Zemmour is someone I know well and that I appreciate, you know it. It’s no secret to anyone” she had however declared about the presidential candidate.
Last January, Marion Maréchal slowly began to reconsider her decision, saying she was tempted by a return to politics, while Eric Zemmour encouraged her to join him in his camp. She then announced that she had no “not wanting to recreate family fractures” but that she wouldn’t support her aunt. Marine Le Pen then said declared this decision “incomprehensible” and spoke about it on the set of CNews : “It’s violent and brutal […]besides the political aspect, there is also the personal aspect” she confided.
From now on, Marion Maréchal has completely changed her mind, despite the saddened declarations of her aunt, and thus intends to support Eric Zemmour by starting to be present this Sunday, March 6 during his meeting in Toulon.
