Market: OPEC+ lowers its surplus forecast this year

LONDON (Reuters) – OPEC+’s joint technical committee has cut its forecast for the oil market surplus this year by 200,000 barrels a day to 800,000 barrels a day, three delegates from the organization told Reuters. .

The joint technical committee of OPEC + meets Tuesday ahead of a meeting scheduled for Wednesday of OPEC +, an alliance between the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and its allies, led by Russia.

On the occasion of this meeting on Wednesday, the group of oil-producing countries must decide on its production policy for next month.

According to one of the sources, the joint technical committee of OPEC+ did not discuss the subject of production policy during its meeting.

Last week, sources within OPEC+ told Reuters that the producer group is likely to keep output unchanged in September or increase it slightly.
