Markgräflerland (D) – Wanted senior (72) hides in a roof rack box from the police

A curious scene was waiting for German police officers on Wednesday morning. A man hid from the German police in a roof rack box in a municipality in Markgräflerland (D). At around eight in the morning, police officers showed up at the 72-year-old man’s home. There was an arrest warrant for the senior citizen because he had not paid a fine. His wife opened the door, but the 72-year-old was nowhere to be seen. The police then searched the property. The officers finally discovered a roof rack box on the screed of the house, which was covered with all sorts of junk.

However, they were not deterred by this and opened the box. In fact, they found the 72-year-old in the box, with a pillow and a thermal blanket on him. As the Freiburg police wrote, he had prepared for the police search in the knowledge of the arrest warrant. “He was able to pay the outstanding fine of several thousand euros in cash,” said the police. As part of the search ordered, three marijuana plants were also confiscated from a grow tent.
