Available for a few weeks now, Apple’s new iPhone 15s have not been spared from various defects and other malfunctions. If the overheating noted by various users was recently corrected thanks to an update, Apple’s newborn still appears more fragile than its predecessor.
In particular, it presents a problem linked to fingerprints on the titanium contour, not to mention an audio bug for certain users. And now, screens are affected by burn-in.
And another problem, one!
Some users have been reporting another problem for several days, this time inherent to the smartphone panel. Certain screens tend to suffer from burn-in, i.e. the appearance of an afterimage after more or less intensive use of the latter.
If owners of an OLED screen are particularly vigilant about these burns, the problem is not recent, since the latter also affected our good old cathode ray screens. Still, it seems to be hitting some OLED panels of the iPhone 15 Pro Max today.
The iPhone 15 on the verge of burnout
In recent days, it has been possible to read numerous messages on X.com, on Reddit or on the Apple forums concerning this display problem. The burn-in in question only seems to concern the iPhone 15 Pro Max at present.
The majority of affected users indicated that they were able to exchange their smartphone on the official Apple website or in an Apple Store.
For the moment, the Apple brand has not confirmed that such a problem affects its iPhone 15 Pro Max. Also, it is possible that only some of the screens in the range are affected, and that they can quickly be identified and exchanged for production.
