What are the long-term consequences of the lockdown? Marlene Lufen asked herself this question in a video – and now in a TV special.

Are the consequences of the corona lockdown possibly worse than the illness itself? Moderator Marlene Lufen (50) asked herself this question in a 14-minute long, emotional video on Instagram and made waves. The numerous reactions to her monologue range from absolute approval to harsh criticism – and now even brought Lufen a special broadcast on Sat.1. Already on Monday evening (8:15 pm) the station will show the live talk "Marlene Lufen: Germany in Lockdown", in which the presenter and four guests try to clarify the most burning questions and address the greatest concerns.

Probably the most controversial statement in Lichten's Instagram video: "I have the feeling that we will look back on this time in two or three years and think we did it wrong. The lockdown was the wrong thing we could have done. At least over such a long period. " Lichten's statement is based on her fear that the forced isolation would severely affect children in particular and that they would increasingly become victims of domestic violence. Even for people with depression, the lockdown is almost unbearable. And last but not least, from an economic point of view, it confronts many people with massive existential fears.

Audience can ask questions

In order to shed light on these topics, four guests from different areas will discuss the show with Lufen. Pediatrician Dr. Karella Easwaran and district school spokesman Alexander Löher, who report on their experiences regarding the effects of social isolation on children. Guest number three is called Charis Krüger and suffers from depression himself. In addition, celebrity chef Tim Raue (46) is part of the group and speaks about feelings such as "frustration, aggression and humiliation" that are raised by worrying about the job.

Other interlocutors will be added, the audience can put their questions to the participants via Facebook.
