If many stars have often testified to the difficulty of protect their privacy, it is sometimes the same for men – and women – politicians. This is indeed what happened to Marlène Schiappa, brought to the fore when she was Minister for Gender Equality. Now deputy minister responsible for citizenship, the politician spoke in the podcast Parents first of Leisure TV to tell about her daily life as a mother and an active woman, which is scrutinized on a daily basis. And when asked how her notoriety changed the lives of her two daughters, aged 9 and 13 and a half, whose first names she refuses to reveal, the minister gave an astonishing anecdote. Indeed, if his daughters live rather well his celebrity, they were able to experience some … amazing moments. "At school, the other children are quite kind to my daughters. They have friends who follow what I'm doing. It's pretty cool and caring, because I'm committed and they see there is a commitment. After it happened to us to be chased by a paparazzi with my daughter". She then recounts this unsettling episode in detail.
They flee through the emergency exit
"We were doing Christmas shopping in a department store. I have a security officer (like all ministers) who tells me : “There is someone in front of the store with a camera with a big zoom.” But the young mother does not understand immediately : "I answer him : "And so he lives his life …". The security officer said to me: “No, no, I think he's here for you.” For me, it had no interest, I was shopping with my daughter …"She said. But it was a photographer following her, as the security officer confirmed to her a few minutes later:"We checked and it is indeed a paparazzi. He told us that he is waiting for Marlène Schiappa who is in it with her daughter and that he will take pictures to sell them to a magazine."So the minister and her daughter had to take an emergency exit from the store and run away!
But how do you manage such an episode with a little girl without traumatizing her? "To my daughter, I didn't say exactly what was going on so as not to panic her. I told him : "We're going to leave, because we're dodging someone, I'll tell you later …", confessed the mother. Some inconveniences that can sometimes worry Marlène Schiappa: "Likewise, we were photographed with my husband and our children when we were at the beach two or three years ago. It's very unpleasant for a pre-teen to find herself in a photo in a swimsuit".
