A man allegedly arrested a schoolgirl in the city center on the pretext of charity, which prompted the gendarmes to issue an appeal for vigilance. This is an isolated act, however tempers the police

The call has been relayed extensively for a few hours on social networks. A communication from the national gendarmerie was sent to the colleges of Marmande to call on the educational community, parents and children to be vigilant after an isolated act, which occurred on Thursday January 13, attracted the attention of the police.

According to the communication in question, a man in his fifties would have repeatedly arrested a student from the college in the school district, asking her to donate hair to make wigs for women with cancer. The young girl would then have pretended to be late to spin, and the solicitations of the individual would then have ended.

No violence

Asked about the subject, the commander of the Marmande gendarmerie company, squadron leader Emmanuel Bonte, explains and reassures at the same time: “For the moment, this is an isolated act. There was no violence. We preferred to issue a report to the colleges of Marmande because we do not know who we are dealing with. The soldiers are trying to find out if other students have been accosted by this same person.

The wanted man is described as a 50-year-old of “Caucasian type with damaged white skin, measuring approximately 1.70 m and of strong build”. The man would have salt-and-pepper hair, wear a khaki-colored coat and dark pants, and speak with no particular accent.
