This Monday, March 28, viewers of Married at first sight have discovered the portrait of Frédérick. At 40, the bachelor is the father of a little girl who suffers from a rare disease.
Frédérick embarked on the Married at First Sight adventure. Like several other singles, this 40-year-old dad signed up for the M6 show to find the woman of his life. If he showed up with a big smile, he hides a deep woundas he explained in his portrait, broadcast this Monday, March 28. “I have a little girl who has been sick since birth, he explained, tears in his eyes. She has West Syndrome.” This disease is a rare form of epilepsy which is manifested by the occurrence of series of involuntary muscle contractions which appears in infants. “She has epileptic seizures every day. She doesn’t talk, she doesn’t walk”continued Frederick.
“My daughter is everything to me. Despite her pathology, her disability, that’s everything to me”, added Frédérick, whose daughter lives abroad, in a specialized establishment. But on a daily basis, the illness of her child had repercussions on her couple. “Even for a solid and very close couple, whether we like it or not, the disease made my couple explode. Because we put our daughter in a bubble in order to overprotect her from everything and the couple no longer existed , he confided, with tears in his eyes, in the second issue of Married at first sight. I never managed to rebuild myself after that and I couldn’t see myself rebuilding a family one day. I felt guilty towards my daughter because of the separation and the fact that I no longer live with her. I can’t let her down, impossible.”
Frédérick: his future wife went through a hard time
The Married at First Sight experts have found a profile that could perfectly match their expectations. With Emilie, Frédérick is indeed 84% compatible. Like him, the young woman went through very complicated times, especially during her pregnancy. “The doctors told me that my daughter had a nuchal translucency that was too thick, that she could be carrying a disease, which we did not know”she remembered on M6 before explaining that the father of her child had decided to leave her. “The hardest thing is to find yourself alone in a pregnancy that was wanted where you had a whole family around you”continued Emilie, who became the mother of a little Lina: “For me, it’s a miracle. Lina is my ray of sunshine, it’s my life in fact”.
